1. Key features
COOLPIX W300 is built tough so it keeps going wherever you go. Dive with it to a depth of 30 m/100 ft without a housing (meets PADI advanced open water diving specifications). Count on it to keep performing in harsh conditions, since it’s designed to withstand drops from up to 2.4 m/8 ft., and temperatures down to -10°C/14°F. Dustproofing ensures uninterrupted operation in dusty, gritty, rugged outdoor environments.
The bright f/2.8 NIKKOR lens with 24 mm*1 wide-angle, and Backside illumination CMOS image sensor, combine to deliver remarkable images underwater or in other low-light situations. With 16 effective megapixels*2, 5x optical zoom and 10x*3 Dynamic Fine Zoom supported by VR (Vibration Reduction) for crisp, clear photos at full zoom and in low light, you have every reason to take beautiful shots on vacation or every day.
*1 35mm format equivalent.
*2 Image processing may reduce the number of effective pixels.
*3 Magnification of Dynamic Fine Zoom is calculated from the maximum wide-angle position of optical zoom.
Document even the most intense moments of activity in magnificent 4K resolution. It’s so easy to film underwater with the new COOLPIX W300 auto exposure and AE lock, delivering vibrant colors and vivid expressions with more control than ever. Even those tricky underwater scenes, where surface waves produce fluctuating brightness in the water below, can be captured with ideal exposure just the way you envisioned.
* When the battery temperature is below 0°C (32°F), movies with the size/frame rate set to 2160/30p (4K UHD), 2160/25p (4K UHD), 1080/60p, 1080/50p, HS 480/4×, HS 480/4×, HS 1080/0.5×, or HS 1080/0.5× cannot be recorded.
* If the battery temperature goes below 0°C (32°F) before you start recording, the size/frame rate of the movie switches to 1080/30p or 1080/25p.
* If the size/frame rate of the movie is set to 2160/30p (4K UHD), 2160/25p (4KUHD), 1080/60p, 1080/50p, HS 480/4×, HS 480/4×, HS1080/0.5×, or HS 1080/0.5× and the battery temperature goes below 0°C (32°F) while recording, the camera may stop recording and turn off automatically. The recorded movie is saved.
Created with outdoor performance in mind, but styled to be equally at home in the city, this camera lets you show off its high quality wherever you are. It offers a comfortable and stable hold, with many functions accessible directly by button so you won’t have to hunt through menus, for smooth operation even while wearing gloves. The LED light that works as a flashlight is a button away to provide support when preparing for a shoot in pitch dark. When you’re all ready to shoot, the 7.5 cm/ 3.0-inch TFT screen with Anti-reflection coating ensures you to get the shot you want.
Whether you are shooting atop a mountain or underwater, press on the Tool Button to start Active Guide to check where you are right from the camera display, anytime you need it. Location data displays the direction that the camera is pointing toward, based on the information obtained using the built-in electronic compass. If you need to know how high or deep you are, Altitude and Water depth*1 displays keep you on top of the situation*2. You can even shoot while the information is displayed on the screen. Altitude and Water depth logs can be recorded at set time intervals and displayed for confirmation, which can later be displayed as a graph. What’s more, the camera can add location data to the images.
*1 When the Underwater scene mode is selected, or when the camera automatically recognizes that it is under water in Auto mode.
*2 The displayed information such as location, altitude and water depth are intended as a general guide only. Do not use these data for specialized applications.
Your high-quality Nikon images can light up your social networks in seconds with SnapBridge*1. It uses Bluetooth® low energy (BLE) to maintain a constant, low-power connection between your camera and smart devices. So you can keep your smartphone safely tucked away in your pocket, and your tablet in your bag, while photos*2 are automatically transferred to them as you shoot. Simply pick up your smart device and your photos will be there: Each of images synced while you shoot is automatically re-sized to a 2MB-size file. Copyright information or comments may be added to the image using SnapBridge app on your smart device, and quickly upload to social media or to NIKON IMAGE SPACE*2.If you don’t want to automatically sync every photo, simply switching to Wi-Fi® let you manually sync specific photos, sync movies, and even shoot stills remotely using a smart device*3.
*1 Requires a smart device installed with SnapBridge app. Please refer to a local Nikon website for details.
*2 Transfer of unlimited number of images and capacity is enabled using SnapBridge for images reduced to 2-megapixel equivalent; 20GB limit is applied for transferring original JPEG images. Signing up for Nikon ID in advance is required for file transfer using SnapBridge.
*3 Bluetooth® pairing of the camera and a smart device required in advance to switch to Wi-Fi®.
