SINGAPORE – Nikon Singapore Pte. Ltd. is pleased to announce that the 11 judges for the Nikon Photo Contest 2018-2019 have been decided.
The Nikon Photo Contest, which will celebrate its 50th anniversary in 2019, continues to receive the support of photo enthusiasts from around the world with the last Contest receiving entries from 170 countries and regions. Imaging professionals, including photographers and curators, active in a variety of fields, such as photojournalism, advertising, fashion, sports, and wedding photography, have been selected to form a diverse, international panel of experienced and knowledgeable judges for the Nikon Photo Contest 2018-2019.
Guided by Lead Judge Neville Brody, this panel of judges will review the Contest entries to unearth new talent and contribute to the development of photo culture.

• Delly Carr, photographer and Nikon Ambassador (Australia)
Delly Carr is a freelance sports photographer active primarily in Australia. He has worked as a Nikon Ambassador since 2010. Carr has photographed nine Olympic Games, and is the recipient of a number of awards, beginning with the Gold Award – BEST OLYMPIC PHOTOGRAPH – Sportsshooter USA 2001, and the AIPP 2017 Sports Photographer of The Year. He currently applies his hand to advertising photos for a number of well-known international brands.
• Parker Fitzgerald, photographer (U.S.A.)
Parker Fitzgerald works as the creative director of Ransom Limited, a design agency in Portland, Oregon that he co-founded with his brother, creating advertising photos for well-known fashion brands. He also works with Kinfolk magazine, which is published by a company based in Copenhagen, taking commercial photos for a broad range of clients. His photographic style has often been described as evoking a quiet strength.
• Jill Furmanovsky, photographer (U.K.)
Jill Furmanovsky is known around the world for her portraiture of famous rock musicians. Her work has won a number of awards, including The Jane Bown Observer Portrait Award. She is also founder and CEO of Rockarchive.com, a collective of rock music photographers. Her books, The Moment: 25 Years of Rock Photography and Was There Then Oasis: A Photographic Journey have greatly influenced the world of rock photography.
• Carol Guzy, photojournalist and Nikon Ambassador (U.S.A.)
Carol Guzy works as a photojournalist, and is currently busy editing publications. She received her fourth Pulitzer with her coverage of the Haitian earthquake in 2010, and has also been the recipient of numerous other awards. Guzy has been named Photographer of the Year by the National Press Photographers Association three times and eight times by the White House News Photographers Association.
• Keith Ladzinski, photographer, videographer, and Nikon Ambassador (U.S.A.)
Keith Ladzinski's work as an adventure photographer primarily focuses on natural history, extreme sports and advertising. He has worked with The New York Times and other well-known international brands, and his work has been extremely well received in the field of outdoor photography. Ladzinski also works as a videographer exhibiting great versatility in his work for clients that include National Geographic TV.
• Nadia Meli, photographer and Nikon Ambassador (Italy)
As a wedding photographer, Nadia Meli has photographed many weddings, primarily across Europe. Her works have been published in photo books and wedding magazines known around the world, and her uniquely natural photographic style has been extremely well received. Since 2015, Meli has taught workshops and online courses, helping photographers to find their own artistic voice and style.
• Miho Odaka, photo curator (Japan)
Miho Odaka moved to the U.K. after graduating from Sophia University's Department of English Literature. She earned her Master's degree from Falmouth College of Arts, Institute of Photography. Odaka gained her independence after working as an advertising photo editor and working at photo galleries planning exhibitions and selling pieces. She is currently involved in a variety of projects that connect Japan and the world in the field of photography, including photo exhibitions, exhibition curation for film festivals, coordinating exhibitions, artist management and instruction, and writing.
• Wing Shya, photographer (Hong Kong)
Wing Shya is a contemporary artist with works spanning the fields of film, art, and fashion. He graduated from the Emily Carr Institute in Canada. He returned to Hong Kong in 1991, where he founded the design studio, Shya-La-La Workshop. Since 1997, he has worked under exclusive contract as photographer and graphic designer for film director Wong Kar-wai. In 2006, an exhibition of his work titled, The Wing Shya Exhibition, was held in the Mori Arts Center Gallery in Tokyo.
• Bharat Sikka, photographer (India)
Bharat Sikka is a fine art photographer based in India, and active around the world. He studied photography at the Parsons School of Design in New York. Sikka's work has been exhibited around the world, beginning with the National Museum in New Delhi. His published works include the photo collection, Matter. He also works with well-known magazines and publications, including Vogue and The New York Times.
• Gisli Snaer, Director & CEO of the London Film School (Iceland)
Gisli Snaer works as Director and CEO of the London Film School. He has served as a member of the jury for a number of film festivals, including the Berlin International Film Festival Kinderfilmfest, and as a Head Jury for the Asian European Foundation photo competition, "On The Go". Snaer is a member of the European Film Academy, the Royal Television Society, the Directors Guild of Iceland, and the Federation of European Film Directors.
• Jeffrey Wu, photographer (Canada)
Jeffrey Wu is a professional wildlife and nature photographer accredited by the Professional Photographers of Canada, and works with African safaris. He is a member of the Canadian Association for Photographic Art, as well as the Masters Division of the Toronto Camera Club. Wu is also Director of International Promotion for China's birdnet.cn, as well as a contracted photographer for Mercury Press & Media and Solent News and Photo Agency.
Nikon Photo Contest 2018-2019 is the 37th Contest, and entries are now being accepted in three categories—Open, Next Generation, and Video. The entry period began at 1:00 p.m. on October 18, 2018 and extends until 1:00 p.m. on January 31, 2019 (all dates and times JST), and anyone with an interest in photography is invited to enter.
